Rugs: dyes

When your eye is better trained you will be able to look at rug
dyes and be able to place them in an area, for example:
1.  Sand yellows, deep indigo, aubergine, plum, mauve reds, and blue-greens, the green being different from any other used and the most obvious.
(a) Far-eastern dyes from China to the eastern part of Persia and the Meshed and Khorrasan districts.

• Madder reds, brick reds, terracotta and pistachio greens.(a) Western central Persia up to the Caucasus.

• The pinks tend towards mauve, slate blues, bright reds and olive greens.

• Turkey. three different looks, another key for identification.
